Hello everybody. I would like to know wich element could be used to modeling a composite shaft. I carried out a modeling with SHELL99, but this element don'nt support a rotordynamis analisys like Campbell Diagram, Unbalance Response, etc. I read that some beam element support this kind of analisys. Thanks a lot.

Dear Sir/Madam
I was wondering if you can help me to use Rotordynamic Analysis tutorials for ansys ,animation format, examples or any other formats.

Sure. ANSYS has user defined element capability in form of so-called UPF (User Programmable Features). Check the doc and/or ask your locai support.

Hi there,
I am wondering whether there is any capability in ANSYS so that I can add an element to its library, and call this element from within ANSYS.

thx

Hi
Recntly i start some researches about rotor dynamics in ansys i experenced some analysis in msc nastran&patran & cosmos, but i found that ansys has good options for rotor dyanamics, i have some tuterials about that (ansys tuterials):
NonLinear Analysis of a Cantilever Beam
Dynamical_Modal analysis
Harmonic Analysis of a Cantilever Beam
Transient Analysis of a Cantilever Beam
ask your question maybe i can help you or email me if you want to read that tuterials yourself

Dear all,

I am interested in analyzing the mechanical behaviour, both static and dynamic, of a internal permanent-magnet rotor.

Questions i have is:
1) how do i constraint the rotor model while applying global angular velocity loads?
2) how do i apply constraints on the magnet and rotor lamination boundary?

as a start, i am trying to analysis the deformation and stress due to centrifugal forces when the PM rotor rotates at a speed of 4800rpm, but without any success at the moment.

Any suggestions on reference materials/ideas is highly appreciated. Thank you!

regards,
