Hello valentina,

It's been almost 1 montn you posted this question. You should be having the answer by now, still....

You can always create a APDL macro in the loading area of menu. I would suggest you to you select the nodes by location for selecting the nodes at that location.

e.g

nsel,s,loc,....
f,....

if your problem is small element size in the area of application you can always give line sizing to the area you apply force.

good luck

Hi, I am making my thesis with ansys workbench,

I have used ansys classic in order to modify a design that has been given to me, and then I have imported it in wb.
(This means that in wb I cannot modify the geometry)

Now,
on a portion of an element I must apply a force, but only on a part and not on all: how can I do it?

I have tried to modify geometry "dividing" the region of interest from the body with ansys, but then, when I execute the mesh, on the edges of this portion I have a mesh too small...
I have been told that in ansys classic the foce can be applied also on the nodes of the mesh, but I have not found no command of the sort in wb.

Thanks in advance,
valentina
