    Hi,
I am trying to simulate a design for a microrobotic leg that is electrically actuated.
A composition with a PZT layer is electrically excited and hence a moment is created that bends the beam and makes it shrink a tiny bit in it self.
For a cantilever design the simulation works perfect.

    The problem is the following...
Some of my designs will be able to carry alot more weight when they are deflected (Voltage applied) before the force is applied.
The designs are actually not strong when the defelction is 0.
In the nonlinear simulation both the voltage and the force are ramped up in equal proportions. This causes the simulation to predict to low or even negative deflection even though the force should easily be carried by the setup if defelected before.

I tried the upcoord command and it worked for a very simple setup.
Ansys freezes though when I use the command for my design even though the mesh is very rough.
Same problem for the upgeom command.

Do you have any idea how I could apply the voltage before the force?

It would be amazing if somoene could help me.
