I can give you instructions how to analyse that kind of rotor with proMechanica.
1.) You have to model and assamble only 1/4 of the rotor with parm, magnets.
2.) you will have to define cilindrical coordinate system for the assambly and make him active.
3.) Define material for all rotor parts.
4.) Tide up the magnets on the surface of the rotor with perimeter welds. (connections in Pro Mechanica)
    5.) Boundary conditions:
define boundary conditions at both rotor angular sides (rotor pipe + magnets)-by 0 degress and 90 degrees.
movement on r direction is free, movement on tt direction not free, movement on zz direction not free
6.) Constrain one forehead side of rotor and magnets in zz direction.
    7.) Difine the centrifugal force (n=4800 min-1) in rad/s. 4800/60*2pi=503rad/s)
    8.) controll the mesh
    9.) run the analysis.
I hope these instructions will help you!

    best regards

    dear tomajele,

thank you for your reply and instructions. i'll try it when i can get hold of a ProMechanica.....

how reliable is ProMechanica in structural analysis please? Would you have a paper/article that you can share with me with regards to the rotordynamic analysis you have done in ProMech please??

i look forward to hear from you again. Thank you!!
