    Hi,

How do you model two areas with different material properties? for example I have two areas resembling a cantilever beam glued together. Half of the beam is modeled with one material and the other half with a different material. how do I specify which area is to receive the necessary material property?

    Hi!

I would use two different element types with same elements, for this You need both parts to be different areas.
    if You use beam1 elements:
    et,1,beam1...
    et,2,beam1...
    and corresponding materials:
    mp,1,...
    mp,2,...
